The Light Next to Tarazed

16 Oct

Hey! I found a really cool site today. It’s called Little Write Lies. It’s another WordPress site, owned by Taylor Eaton. I had a lot of fun perusing her blog this evening.

This is the first installment in a budding series of very short stories. There are 3 so far, but don’t despair, she has more coming in a little while.

The second story is Here.

The third story is Here.

She has more short-short stories on her site. Take a look around. 😀

.

I’m not sure if she’s on any other social media, but I know her through Twitter:  @tayloreaton

.

It’s a story with space travel!

Thanks for sharing this with your readers, Rose! Tarazed is one of my favorite projects I’m currently working on. Excited for everyone to see what happens next!

No problem, Taylor. I am one of those people who can’t wait to see what happens next.

Judging by your short stories, your novel is going to rock! 😀

Haha thanks! I hope so. It’s so different from what I’m doing with my short pieces, but fingers crossed it comes together during NaNo!

I know what you mean. A short usually takes me a couple hours, editing included. This suspense novel, on the other hand, just might kill me. *eye roll*

Not that I’m going to give up. It’s just really nice to have something accomplished in an afternoon. Contrast that with having worked on this novels characters, plot line, and timing since Last November. Two totally different approaches.

Oh yes, most definitely. This is the first novel I’ll complete, but I’m finding I work better in writing compact, short pieces. I think approaching a long story by breaking it into smaller stories (like Tarazed) works much better for my writing style and habits. So lately my chapters/scenes in my novel have been short and self-contained. Which makes for something of a different reading experience.

That’s given me an idea. I Killed Them, Mama is going to start off every chapter or so with an excerpt from Amelia’s diary (writing to her dead mother).
I should just treat each diary entry and its 3rd party view as their own little vignette.
(why has my brain made this whole process seemed so complicated?!)

              Thanks! This could work! 😀
