Computers: A Love-Hate Relationship – A Poem

11 Jan

Hmmm, according to my schedule, Saturday is my day for poetry.

So that means I have to come up with something.

Thinking…thinking…

Got it!

*        *        *

I love computers.

I hate computers.

They make my life easier

And harder at the same time.

Info in a hurry?

Bing or Google are a lifeline.

Want to get some work done?

Nope, defrag time.

The more they’re needed

The more they go.

Need it done in a hurry?

Yeah, that’s a big fat no.

Scans, tests and system checks

Take twice the time you expect.

When all you want to do is play

The darn thing works great all day.

Therefore:

I love computers.

I hate computers.

Not pretty, but there you have it. A poem. A raw one at that. Only touched the backspace for misspellings. I would usually spend about an hour pouring over every detail and making everything all nice and pretty. Tonight, however, I thought you wouldn’t mind seeing behind the curtain a little.

Any thoughts?

What would you change?

.

Heehee, look what I found.

Oh my gosh! I’m experiencing same dilemma too. I do not know how’s my relationship with my computer at the office. Would I love having it or should I just break it? Its freezing on me whenever I need to expedite my work but it runs smoothly sometimes. Its funny to read your poem about it really. 😉

lol Exactly! I’m having that right now with my computer while trying to put together this week’s Mirth and Music Monday. It runs smoothly just long enough to lull me into a false sense of security, then up pops an error message. grrr.

I’m really glad you liked the poem. Sorry you have annoying computer experiences too. 🙂

Lol. I hope it didn’t ruin your work. Its really good to know to know that computer makes our work faster and easier. Yet, its really too bad that as much as we rely on it, that becomes a necessity now, when it breaks, it’s as if we break our knees.

Yah, I like it! I really liked getting an inspiration from any common thing that’s happening around, whether hilarious or serious. 🙂

The post came out great. Very happy with it. Just took quite a bit longer than I had figured. Which is alright. 🙂

              Thanks for the compliment. *blushes*

Inspiration, no matter where you get it, is invaluable. There are times when I’ve sat in front of my computer for almost half an hour without writing a single word. Then someone will say something or do something and all of a sudden I have half a poem in my head. lol The creative process is quite an experience. 🙂

Yeh, it really happens. There are times also that your brain floods with so much idea, the problem is, the beginning of the thread is really hard to find. Thoughts clog and it is difficult to flow as if it freeze inside the noodles. Lol…:)
But, thanks to some geek who taught how to overcome writers block.
