All These Spinning Plates, er, Projects

28 May

So many secrets.

So many whispers.

It’s about good things, thankfully.

For those of you in the know it’s a wink wink nod nod carry on.

For those of you who are not in on the secrets please know that you are not loved any less. It’s just that there are so many projects being juggled at the moment it would be hard to keep everyone on the same page at the same time. Plus, if some of them don’t fly, it would kind of suck to have to admit that to too many people.

What I can tell you is that:

We are still looking for an artist to collaborate on a graphic novel. Someone who can stick closely with my husband’s vision for his story. Someone who knows the steampunk genre. Lonnie hasn’t been stagnant, though. He has added more pages to the adventure, and has quite a bit more still in his head. So far we figure he has a years worth of material. Not bad, really.

We are still trying to get an office together. The strange thing is that the more we look into it the more we find that it will be easier to keep a big place open than a little one. We have contacted several real estate agents, and chosen one in particular to represent us locally. We have another in California, but that’s a whole other story.

Our diet is going well. Although the guys are not losing weight as fast as they would like there are subtle changes every week. It’s not really working as well for me, but I already knew that it was going to take a little more work with my reactive hypoglycemia taken into account. That’s alright. I have officially fit back into my size 8 jeans, and exhausted a couple belts trying to keep my other pants up.  Happy!  😀

I get to go on another road trip in a few weeks. I’m so excited!  It’s with my Aunt and Grandma again. We’re going to go visit some relatives. So as you can tell we’re really going to be tearing it up. lol  It will still be fun. Those two keep me in stitches.  🙂

My garden is mostly planted. Let me see, that includes spinach, leaf lettuce, bunching onions, two kinds of peas, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, watermelon, and cantaloupe. Everything but the lettuce is doing very well. I don’t know what’s wrong with the lettuce, it’s just not coming up quickly and seeming to be failing to thrive. The spinach, on the other hand, is going to be picked this evening (that will make for the 3rd harvest so far). Carrots will go in around the tomato, and radishes will be planted between the cucumbers.

There are a few more projects in the works. These will be brought to the light for everyone to ooh and aw at when the times are right. Until then, we will continue to work away, hoping that everything lines up for us.

Keep those projects in motion!

I’m not far from it.  :/

Time for a little nostalgia!

If you liked this post, or if you’re willing to give this meme another chance go ahead and click here to visit ReGi McClain’s blog, which is where you will find the linky.

Think you could have a lot of fun with this idea? (Don’t be shy, people. There’s only so much that Emily Witt and I can do.) Go ahead and put together your own Mirth and Music Monday post and put it in the linky so we can all see it (and share it on Twitter for you! #MirthMusicMon).  All you have to do to qualify is create a post that has both mirth and music. That could mean a comic strip, a funny meme, or a blooper video plus a piece of classical music, a music video, or part of a Broadway production. Or it could be just one video that’s both funny and musical. It could be any combination of things. Let your imagination out to play! 🙂

Have a Fun Week!

MMM… King of the Road

19 May

Last week, because of the baby videos, I promised something manlier this time. So here it is!

First! The mirth:

The laughter gets me every time and I love those little bows after the other guy realizes he caught it on camera.  🙂

He’s bound to have some interesting bruises, though.

Now the music:

Ooh, boy can those two sing. *flutters*

If you liked this post go ahead and play along with us. We would be happy to have you as Monday buddies. 🙂  All that is required is something funny (be it a comic strip, a stand up comedian or a funny commercial) and something musical (classical, rock, Tesla coils. What?) and then go to ReGi McClain’s blog to add your info into the linky there. After that, your blog post is among some of the most cultured, refined and admired posts among the blogosphere. At least we will think so.  😉

Now if you’ll excuse me, my chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is melting. I love cheat day. 🙂

Have A Great Monday!

MMM… Lots of Babies

11 May

In an effort to not do too many baby things, I have accidentally done no baby things in a long time.

Today is the day I rectify this situation.

Sorry.

Maybe next week I’ll make it up to my male followers and try to find something like a monster truck rally music video. (do they even exist??)

That should be interesting

I’m Fighting the Blues

9 May

Yes, I will admit it. I am in a funk right now.

Not quite sure why, but I am.

Actually, yes I do know why.

I am not the most patient person on the planet and watching the calendar pages fly past as my husband and I work on various goals and projects has begun to wear on me. For the longest time I was the perkiest person on the planet about our empire building plans. But it has now been a few weeks since we’ve been able to gain any traction on anything substantial and it’s bumming me out.

This has happened to me before. Many times, in fact. I’ll spend a week or so moping around listening to music, crying instead of napping, and loitering in my sprouting garden. Then one day I’ll suddenly have my groove back, the mojo will spring into action and I’ll put my nose to the grindstone again. Until then I will baby myself so that my natural optimism has a chance to bloom again.

However, something different is happening this time. I have been asked to stay with a friend over the weekend while her housemate is gone.

When I accepted I wasn’t all that excited about a weekend away from my computer, my writing and my husband. Now that I’ve had a little time to think about it I have realized that this could be good for me. A weekend of something different. Not drastically so, but still no dogs, someone new to talk with for a few days and nothing productive to do. Unless you count watching old movies, fudging a bit on my diet, and reading as many of their Mrs. Pollifax books as I can manage.  😉

(I will still very much miss my husband. I don’t sleep very well without him beside me. :/ )

So, now I’m looking at this weekend more like R&R rather than a chore. That’s good, because I’ll have a lot more fun with this mindset rather than resenting the situation. And seriously, what’s to resent? It’s distracting me from what I’m not mentally and emotionally capable of tackling in my present condition.

Well, enough of that. It’s time for me to put together and schedule my next Mirth and Music Monday post. The least I can do for my post-weekend self is take away the stress of trying to get that together in one night.  🙂

And now it’s time for something completely unrelated!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_4LtBDCUEg&noredirect=1

Nothing like a little Star Trek related tomfoolery to lighten the mood. 🙂

.

I hope you all have a great weekend,

and I’ll see you again on Monday.

MMM… The MozART Group

5 May

That was… an odd week. And this new week will be stranger still. I have so many places to be, people to help, and things that need doing. Next weekend is going to be very full and busy and at the same time probably a little on the slow and empty side.

Yes, at times life becomes one big oxymoron.

Lots of hurry up and wait, if you know what I mean.

Oh, well. You get used to it.

Or you end up in a mental institution talking to your jelly toast.

Either way… eh…

Where was I going with that?

*shrugs*

This one is from a group I found a while ago. They’re called the MozART Group. They do classical music with not so much a twist as a spiral.

For more Mirth and Music Monday you can go to The Linky or search for #MirthMusicMon on Twitter.

I want to give a big shout out to Emily Witt for playing along this week!  Thank You!  😀

I hope your week isn’t as strange as mine could turn out to be. (at least where I will be ‘creatively loitering’ has a few Mrs. Polifax books, so of course no creative work will get done.  😉  )

And as always:

Have A Great Monday!

Something Cute for May the 4th (be with you)

4 May

I laughed so hard when I saw this commercial for the first time. It still ranks as one of my favorites.

It’s just so cute! And so Star Wars. 🙂

I found this one just a few minutes ago and laughed my backside off. (p.s. this is totally why I should never be allowed to have any type of super power)
