#MirthMusicMon – Procrastination 6-5000

26 Sep

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. I’ve been working on building an offline business, which I may or may not share with my personal blog following, not sure yet. We shall see what the consensuses is among those I trust with my safely and security. 🙂
So, while I am not procrastinating on most things, it is a chore to try and fit everything in right now. But I really do not want this blog to fall by the wayside. I’ll just have to put more effort into working on it when the mood strikes. 😀
I hope you all have a great week!

Rose's Road

This procrastination thing has my life all wrapped up.

It’s around my writing, blogging, social life, housework, even eating my meals, for heaven’s sake!

One of the few things I procrastinated on was getting photos of Kathleen in the Easter dress my mother knitted for her. Win!One of the few things I didn’t procrastinate on was getting photos of Kathleen in the Easter dress my mother knitted. Win!

So it was nice to come across a video that explains what I’m going through, with a bit of humor.

Now I just need to figure out a way to make self-imposed deadlines more…scary?

Any suggestions?

Seriously, any ideas?

Your input may just get this highly distractable brain into gear.

The music bit was easy. I found something I hadn’t heard in a while; and as you can see it made for an interesting post title. Bonus! lol

Hard to go wrong with Glen Miller.

(Plus, Kathleen did a little boogy while holding onto the table, so you know it’s got…

#MirthMusicMon – It’s a Lot of Work to be Lazy

12 Sep

Monday already.

Sorry.

I tried to wring every atom of awesomeness out of Sunday, but Monday still reared it’s ugly head.

There are a half dozen calls I need to make for two different businesses, a package to wait for, dinner to get in the slow cooker, a toddler to mother, a house to scrub, a meeting today, another tomorrow, Bible study on Wednesday…

The week is already trying to run me over.

Time to take a moment to appreciate something funny.

Laughter has been proven to reduce stress hormones and that helps unlock your brain from panic mode making it easier for you to come up with solutions.

See?!?

Mirth and Music Monday is a public service.

You’re welcome. 😀

I can attest to the fact that it’s not just high schoolers who are too tired to consider a real workout. This mom of a toddler is tired almost all the time. Thankfully there really are little workouts moves that can help a lot. Yay.

So, to get you fired up for all 65 seconds of commitment for today’s exercise session, here’s some inspirational music:

Hooray for original music videos! lol

Still, give it a go. What do you have to lose?

Or perhaps the question is, what do you have to gain?

For me it’s losing some softness in the seat area and gaining a perky posterior. 😀

And I need to work on the abs so when an eventual second pregnancy is in progress I can keep baby (and my back) safe and secure easier while chasing big sister to Timbuktu and back. Heehee.

.

That’s it for me this week.

If you liked what you saw, or didn’t but are willing to give the idea another chance, click HERE to go to the link up of all the bloggers doing #MirthMusicMon this week. (Thanks to the creator of this weekly idea, ReGi McClain! 🙂 )

If you should decide to join in on the Mirth and Music Monday fun as a blogger you’re more than welcome. All you’d need to do is find something funny and something musical, create your post, then add it’s URL to the linky on the other side of the above link. It’s easy. 🙂

#MirthMusicMon – House Plant Woes

4 Sep

I didn’t use to be that person.

I had plants for several years at a time.

Now, though, since moving into this house, with no good western facing windows and small eastern windows, it’s hard to keep them alive. Although, I recently got one in a pot small enough to set in the shallow sill of a western window, but then life got busy and the poor thing dried out one too many times. 😦

It’s been a struggle. If you remember I blogged about it a few years ago.

I really hope this isn’t permanent. House plants make me happy. 🙂

Thankfully, plants around here tend to last a little longer than implied in this funny video by Natalie Tran.

Her struggles with shuffling the cards had me laugh-snorting. 😀

.

Perhaps one day, after we move, or find a good place for a grow light, I will be able to have plants again. Until then, I will resist the temptation to take cuttings from the wonderful greenery at my grandmother’s apartment.

Are you a green thumb? Does anything and everything thrive and bloom in your care?

Or are you a Plant Serial Killer? Murderer of innocent, unsuspecting ferns and vines?

Let me know in the comments. Feel free to include your tips and/or excuses. lol

.

That’s it for my #MirthMusicMon contribution. If you would like to see more Mirth and Music Monday posts click HERE to be taken to the link-up.

That’s also where you’ll want to add your post URL if you should decide to join in the fun. 🙂

Strategy is the Key to Sales…I Hope

2 Sep

While not a teen anymore, I will be doing some marketing soon for short stories and hopefully one of my husband’s books (as yet to be finished). It’s always fun to see what other authors are doing/planning so as to perhaps find something more fun or interesting to replace another task you find annoying or distasteful. lol

My debut novel, INSOMNUS, comes out this August (yay!), which means I am in the midst of marketing my book (see updates). The most important thing I’ve discovered is its practically impossible to start too early marketing and platform building. Here are the things I have already done and will do to market my book (that […]
